Tranzform is a Wellington-based support and social group for gender diverse young people, aged 15 to 30, who identify as transgender, fa’afafine, whakawhine, tangata ira tane, intersex, two-spirits, genderqueer, non-gendered, questioning and their allies.
Whether you’ve already gone through gender transition, questioning who you are or feel like you just don’t fit into male or female; you’re more than welcome in our group. We work on the idea that just having somewhere where you can relax, wear what you want and find solidarity with people going through the same stuff, can make all the difference.
The support group runs once every two weeks in a private venue in a safe space meaning your attendance can be as discreet as you want it to be. In the interest of safety we ask that you call, text or email our facilitators to find out when and where we meet.
We often have guest speakers attend our fortnightly sessions to discuss topics like healthcare, mental health, employment and policy rights, legal changes, voice training, shared experiences, online safety and social media perspectives.
